Search and jump to anything
One field over your whole book of business, opened with a keyboard shortcut.
On this page
Opening it#
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) anywhere in the app. You can also click Search at the top of the left sidebar, or the magnifying-glass button in the top bar on a phone.
The same shortcut closes it, as do Esc and a click outside.
What it finds#
Type two or more characters and it searches your records:
- Households: by household name, email address, or the name of any traveler in the household. “Tanaka” finds the household Yuki Tanaka belongs to, even if it is filed under a different name, and the line under it names Yuki, so you can tell households apart without opening them. If the household’s own name matched, that line shows its email address.
- Trips: by trip name or destination.
- Bookings: by confirmation number, description, or supplier name.
- Suppliers: by name or parent company. A supplier whose own name matches comes first, then the brands that belong to a parent company with that name. “Royal” lists Royal Caribbean above the cruise lines it owns.
- Fees: by invoice description, the household billed, or the invoice number. Both INV-0042 and plain 42 work.
Archived households, trips, and suppliers are left out. Up to five matches appear per section; for more, the section’s own page has filters and paging.
You only ever see what you would see anyway. An advisor finds their own households, trips, bookings and fees, the same records the Households and Trips pages show them. An agency admin finds the whole agency. Nothing in this box reaches another agency.
Working as Platform, it searches no records at all. It finds pages under Go to and offers no actions, because you can’t open your own agency’s pages in that role. See Switching roles.
Going places, and starting things#
Below the records are two more sections that work with an empty box, so the palette doubles as a menu of the whole app. The first entry is highlighted, so Enter goes there; arrow down to pick another.
- Go to: every screen in your left sidebar. You can type the word you think in rather than the label on screen: “aging” reaches Reports, “2fa” reaches Security, “email” reaches Inbox and Mailboxes.
- Actions: the forms you start most often: New household, New trip, New supplier, New fee invoice, Import households, Compose email, and, for admins, New deposit, New payout run and New compliance item.
Only what you can reach is offered. An advisor is never shown New payout run, and Compose email appears only once you have connected a mailbox.
Using the keyboard#
Once it is open you don’t need the mouse:
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| ↑ / ↓ | Move through the results |
| Enter | Open the highlighted result |
| Esc | Close the palette |
While you move the highlight, what you type still lands in the search field.
Picking a record in a form#
The search box above jumps you to a record. The other kind of searching picks one inside a form: the supplier on a booking, the household on a fee, the advisor a household belongs to.
Those fields open with their own search box. Type any part of the name and the list narrows; press Enter to take the top match, or click the one you want. Esc closes it and leaves the field as it was, so you can look without choosing.
The top match is the closest one, not the first alphabetically: a name that
starts with what you typed comes above one that contains it. Typing
land offers “Land and Sea Charters” before “Adventure Land Tours”, and both
before “Disneyland Paris”.
A field like this shows you everything you are allowed to pick. If a name finds nothing, it is not there. Some lists are too long to send to your browser at once (the trip on a commission claim, the deposit a statement pays); those fields ask the server as you type and say More trips match than are shown when there are more, so you can’t mistake a short list for the whole answer.
With JavaScript turned off, the field stays an ordinary dropdown.
In the client portal#
Households get the same shortcut on their portal, over the two things the portal holds: their own Trips, and the Invoices they have been sent. Draft and voided invoices are not searchable there, because the household was never shown them.
